Harville Hendrix, Ph. D.Harville Hendrix, Ph. D., is co-founder with his wife, Helen LaKelly Hunt, Ph. D. and other Imago therapists, of Imago Relationships International, a non-profit organization dedicated to international support and development of Imago Relationship Therapy. They are the creators of Imago Relationship Therapy and the concept of the “conscious partnership.” Harville is author of two best sellers, GETTING THE LOVE YOU WANT: A Guide for Couples and KEEPING THE LOVE YOU FIND, A Guide for Singles, and a third best seller, co-authored with Helen, GIVING THE LOVE THEY NEED: A Guide for Parents. . They have also co-authored three mediation books, THE COUPLES COMPANION and THE PERSONAL COMPANION, and the PARENT’S COMPANION. Their most recent books include RECEIVING LOVE: Transform Your Relationship by Letting Yourself Be Loved, THE NEW COUPLES STUDY GUIDE FOR GETTING THE LOVE YOU WANT and a MANUAL FOR RECEIVNG LOVE. Their books have been translated into more than 50 languages and Imago Therapy is practiced in 30 countries by more than 2000 therapists. Harville has made eighteen appearances on the Oprah Winfrey Show, one of which won her first Emmy Award and was ranked by Ms Winfrey in her top twenty shows and. He has also been seen on many other TV shows and featured in many magazine and newspapers article worldwide.
Dr. Hendrix is a clinical pastoral counselor with 40 years of experience as a therapist, educator, clinical trainer, author, public lecturer and has received many awards for his work with couples. He lives with his wife in New Jersey and New Mexico and they have six children.
Carol Kramer Slepian, LCSW (Co-Facilitator)Carol is passionate about training professionals. Her humor and warmth create a safe and nonjudgmental learning experience.
Carol, an Advanced Imago Therapist, presented the "Getting the Love You Want" workshop and the "Keeping the Love You Find" workshops for the past 15 years, with her husband Steve Slepian. Carol is a Clinical Instructor on the Imago faculty. She is also a Focusing Trainer and a Level II EMDR practitioner. Carol practices in Manhattan and in the Berkshires.
